Rag Daze

about

A glimpse into the way back. Made a lot of friends back then and am lucky to say I still have most of them. Ivan Neville is Carlo's friend from their own misspent youth, which is how he comes to appear here.

lyrics

nowhere to go no place to be
i went downtown in ’93
all that’s left is what you see from the rag daze

lost my place one day in June
but someone lent me their spare room
wasn’t my friend but he would be soon in the rag daze

the rag daze are gone
the rag days are gone
lookout joe we bout to blow this rag day song

we was ruff and raw and ragged too
busted coats and taped up shoes
it was a barroom xanadu through the rag daze

took my last good pair of pants
went out looking for some cheap romance
broke my foot and learned to dance through the rag days

the rag daze are gone
the rag days are gone
lookout joe we bout to blow this rag day song

got so cold we almost died
wear your coat just to sleep inside
still and all it was quite a ride

but i made it through without a hitch
ain’t got much but i’m still quite rich
want some heat i just turn a switch to the rag daze
