Look Out

from Lucky One by Alex McMurray

/

about

The band needs something uptempo from time to time or there'll be a mutiny. This one might be classified as a "stomp" and our protagonist might know a thing or two about that. A classic tale of Early Release From The Service Of The State, but have no fear--I believe this one has a happy ending.

lyrics

baby look out cuz baby i’m on my way

jump and shout i’m coming on home to stay
took my shot and i did my time in hell

i'm coming in hot gonna make the sidewalks melt
i don’t know what you been through
well i might have heard a tale or two

so baby look out

cuz baby i’m looking out for you

i know well where all of the bones are hid

& i heard tell what you and jonesy did

but that don’t matter he can’t love you nothing like me
climb that ladder watch the lightning split the tree
jonesy jones about half grown
but
he don’t know the things that i do

so baby look out

cuz baby i’m looking out for you

now i been cooling but baby i’m all on fire

i ain’t fooling i’m tighter than a telephone wire

strike that match til this whole town is in flames

take that scratch go where nobody knows our names
make you a promise

ain’t no threat you and
me we gonna get right yet

so baby look out
cuz baby i’m looking out for you
